A rose by any other name. . .
Two Bills,
That looks like the Peace Rose -- which has quite a history.
The Peace Rose was introduced in the United States in 1945 and given that name in honor of the time in history -- although it had been around before -- but under different names.
The Peace is said by some to be the most famous and most popular rose of all time.
Anyway, if it is the Peace, there is a lot of information about its history that can be found with a Google. Rosarians and just plain rose lovers like to write about it.
I am not a rosarian and I don't have any roses anymore. I was never good at them and soon lost patience with thorns and bugs.
My gardening style now is if I have plants that displease me, I turn into The Red Queen, grab my Felcos and shout, "Off with their heads!"
Ruthless Boomer
PS: If that is not a Peace Rose, or if you already knew about the history, please forgive me for going on and on with extraneous information about rose history. Although I am not a patient gardener, I am, most definitely, an infomaniac.
