You’re computer is vulnerable to malware and extortionware, since you’re using an obsolete operating system system that isn’t supported anymore. The first thing you need to do is to back up your data, before you lose your data. Every computer should be backed up, but almost no one backs up their computer. If you don’t back up your computer, you’ll learn how important the backup is after you lose your data. Install Acronis True Image on your computer, and back up your computer to the encrypted Acronis cloud, and don’t forget your encryption password!

Even commercial businesses try to cut costs by using obsolete software and not properly backing their computer systems. The company that controlled the pipelines was hacked with extortionware because their management made the decision to continue to use obsolete software, plus they obviously didn’t properly backup their computer systems.

If you attempt to update your computer online, it’s possible that the update could fail. If you didn’t have a backup before the update attempt, then your data could be lost. If you’re hard drive dies, which could happen at any moment, your data could be lost if you don’t have a good backup.

I’m guessing that your Windows computer is probably too old, and should be replaced. If you want to eliminate Windows computer problems from you’re life, I suggest that you replace that old Windows computer with a MacBook Pro laptop computer. There’s about a month or two learning curve to get used to the Apple operating system. The Apple computers are far less likely to have problems than the Windows computers, which have to be constantly patched and updated, due to the poor design of the Windows operating system.

After you update to a MacBook Pro laptop, you’re computer problems will be gone, just like the hassles with snow, ice, and cold winter weather are gone when you moved to Florida.
