the wireless mouse has a kind of sleep mode to preserve battery life, which (like me) nobody uses. simply turn off the mouse for a second or two then back on
ideally, if you know you are not going to use the pc for a few hours, turn off the mouse

BTW i have windows 10 and have the same issue
