Default Quicken Archive Question

Does anyone that uses Quicken archive their files on an annual basis?

If you do, how big a problem is it to go back and look at that data on a frequent/infrequent basis.

I tried archiving my files on a year by year basis but when I wanted to go back and look at some old data it was a real pain in the wazoo. If I remember I had to export the current year to save it and then import the year(s) I wanted. I do not remember if it kept the current year that was there that I wanted to compare the old data to or if it overlaid it.

Right now I have almost 8 years of data "online".

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Z
