Those among you who bash the local journal should simply not subscribe. Whether Kansas' online journal, the NYT, the WP, or other "news" source, there is plenty for all. You have so many from which to choose!

I enjoy our local paper. As a part time resident, I read as much as time will allow in our local journal. Ads? Yes. Cover stories? Yes. Daily happenings? Definitely. Word scramble, sudoku and other brain quizzes? Yes. Obituaries? Sometimes.

The paper is a true blessing. They deliver it <to my driveway>. If they miss a morning delivery, they bring it later in the day.The telephone staff has always been courteous about starting and stopping my paper. Their store in Brownwood Paddock Square has other printed media and a $5 map of TV - and they're right next to the Villages Grown.

It comes down to a few things: among other things, accuracy and journalistic pedigree. No media company is without fault, right? To those who sneer at the developer's interests, lighten up. Would our community be better off without the paper? Even you staunch critics would hesitate to see our local journal vanish.

Take my positive vote for a long life for our daily paper. I am thankful that they are there, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
