People will argue about anything. Roughly 110 years ago. gas stations? You would buy gasoline by the gallon from a hardware store. As far as funded by taxpayers. Not sure which is more true oil is so complex and confusing but there is plenty of taxpayer substitutes and taxes charged. No longer posted on the pump but what you/we pay for gasoline is roughly 1/3 taxes.
Not just rebates on electric cars but electricity also gets tax subsidies. An interesting issue is if the tax on gasoline pays some part, who knows of the expense to build and maintain roads, electric cars do not pay.
Solutions are far harder to find than complaints and that has always been so. Fair? Yet, another endless debate with no answer. If, anyone cares, my car is gasoline.
