When I was a very small girl, my grandfather who was an over six foot tall Irish descent Columbus, Ohio Police Officer for 37 years, took me for a visit to the city jail. He showed me a cell and locked me in for a moment and on the way there and on the way back he talked to me about why there are laws and what the good in them are and what happens to people who broke them. I cannot say I have never made a mistake or ever done anything wrong. I have done that thousands of times, but I have been pulled over twice and ticketed. I haven't ever run afoul of the law any other times. I haven't beat my spouse, or stolen anything. (Well not after my grandmother lectured me for taking apples from Mrs. Tracy's tree). I haven't as far as I remember broken any other laws but speeding. Let me think now. I haven't been to confession in a very long time.
