The scary part is the doubling of last week's cases relative to the prior weeks. Florida has a large amount of the Delta variant present and a large population, which makes both experts and ordinary people worry about traveling to Florida. This is BIG news nationally because of Florida's money-making tourist industry and as an example of how to handle state public health. We are fortunate that our leaders are now putting out the word about the increased need for the public to become fully vaccinated. Florida's reliance on its tourist industry has been a driving force toward its determination to have top public health care. And Florida's senior voting block also demands it.
