Sorry, but there is very little if anything accurate about that statement.
A "bad" flu season results in 65-70,000 deaths, mostly among those over 75 and under 2, and mostly because flu vaccines are nowhere near as effective as COVID vaccines. We have over 600,000 COVID "deaths", and while the count is most probably biased, even if it was only a third of that it is much worse than a "bad" flu season. I agree that there is some unreliability in the COVID test, especially in the vaccinated, but it is specific for the spike protein of COVID and therefore does not pick up seasonal flu.
And yes, some cases were picked up incidentally, but I would dispute the term "most"
