As for metal allergies - syringe needles are made of stainless steel, which contains small amounts of nickel. While most people with nickel allergies can tolerate it ON their skin (such as snaps of shirts and zippers of pants), it's possible to have a reaction when it is inserted under the skin. Not common. But possible. For anyone who IS allergic to nickel, it's something they have to consider and prepare for, whenever they might need an injection of anything.

Interesting, live and learn. Nickle is very common. Use of stainless steel is way up, cars, appliances, tableware, even coinage.
