It has never been that way, in the history of this continent, let alone this country.
People considered "other" have been persecuted, shot, enslaved, killed, victimized, accused, provoked, disrespected, disparaged, oppressed, repressed, degraded, humiliated, for as long as there have been "other" for people to do these things to.
There has been and always will be people who will feel threatened by "other" and do whatever it takes to put them down, in order to stay on top.
