I just don’t get it.
This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Now they are dancing in their joyous frenzy about breakthroughs — that they started.
I have two close friends who cannot convince some of their adult kids to get the vaccine, not even to protect their own children and the grandparents.
(Hey, maybe people who have adult children who are risking their families in the name of what looks a lot like a cult mentality should start changing their wills and trusts to require proof of vaccination from heirs.
Or — as a first step — a warning shot — at least, if a few of those advertising lawyers ran ads it might help. . . “Is your adult child refusing to get the vaccine? What! Are they trying to kill you? Is your unvaccinated adult kid neglecting the health of your grandchildren by refusing to do what they can to protect them from the virus? What! Could their refusal to vaccinate lead to a form of negligent homicide for you and your beloved. Well, make an appointment now before it’s too late!)
What is it in their psychological make-up that has made these people so susceptible to being manipulated by their screens of choice. They are being had.
The part of all this divide that I absolutely cannot comprehend is why are those people refusing to protect their own families by doing the best they can, by weighing Risk vs. Benefit, and drawing logical conclusions. The vaccine is the best we’ve got. We sure don’t have each other.
Hmmm, maybe there is one of those tiny, little computer things that has been hidden deep inside their “My Pillow” to play barely audible, subliminal, paranoia-inducing messages while they sleep.
