Checks, yes old fashioned checks, are the most secure form of payment.

You realize that paper checks can be (and are) stolen with your name on them, your ID info in your wallet can be stolen and then used to cash checks. CC # can be used but proper set up and security methods take all the risk from you. You can be notified via text of every charge (or any amount over your selected level), which the text on your phone will appear usually before your leave the counter. You can freeze your credit account at the credit bureaus and social security so that no one can open a fraudulent CC in your name. With some CCs you also can get a CC # that is only for digital use and is tied to your account at the cc company. Or, if you still live like it's 1965, you can stuff all your money under your mattress, or bury it in the back yard....your choice...it is not my choice.
