Italian bread/pastry opinions are prob just like opinions for tomato sauce/gravy! It all depends on whatcher used to! We give Gio's a thumb's up for the bread but not for the pastry. However...their pastry is a tad above the pastry at Magnolia - 'cept for the pignoli cookies which are great and which Gio will not carry because of the cost [$20/lb at Magnolia last Easter].

Magnolia is a hike with a bit of a twist even with the GPS but I'd never suggest not going...it just might be more to your liking than ours. But if the trip is just for bread - skip it and go straight to Gio's. You might want to call Gio's t make sure they save you a loaf of bread - it can sell out quickly!
