Interesting you should bring this up. When my realtor told me I had to do a wire transfer, first for the deposit then for closing, I was taken aback. It seemed scam-like to me and I didn't understand why I couldn't get a cashier's check at my bank as there is a branch in TV. She kept saying, "that's the way it's done in Florida". I still don't get it.
