That's how ours is here. Right through the garage wall directly behind the dryer. I did my own when we were living in NJ when we moved our dryer location. It was very simple as I was 100% sure there was no electrical, plumbing or gas lines in the wall since the laundry room walls in that location had no drywall.
I even relocated the gas line.
