Or is it something new as in a vaccine with new/different spike protein? It's disappointing that the original doses didn't seem to last more than a few months and are we going to get boosters every time there is another variant that is widely circulating? We still don't know about long-term effects of mRNA on our immune system so this strategy risky to say the least.
COVID/SARS2-CV is here to stay it will never go away despite our best efforts. It's like saying we want to eradicate influenza or the common cold (coronavirus). Maybe one day they will develop a sterilizing vaccine that can prevent infection and transmission, but don't hold your breath.
