1) The article that you reference says nothing about zinc.

2) The paper is a comparison of hydroxychloroquine vs chloroquine in an experiment done in vitro using cells from African green monkey kidney VeroE6 cells (ATCC-1586). While in vitro studies are useful in designing future studies on animals/humans, they do not replace in vivo studies.

3) They appear to compare results done at much higher drug concentrations (1.85 to 16.67 umolar) with the blood serum levels of 1.5 umolar. It isn't clear to me that their conclusions are valid.
