Actually an outside antenna will pull in an over the air signal which is at least 1080i and not compressed. Cable and satellite signals are compressed due to bandwidth limitations. The combination of an antenna and a smart TV for streaming is the best thing going. I wish Spectrum would stop with the junk mail. Their $44 a month for internet plus another $44 a month for basic TV is no deal.
