They are common in a salt water pool, we have the same problem. I am not sure why, but my theory is that it has something to do with the alkalinity that is a by-product of the process of converting salt to chlorine. Regardless of how they get there, they are very easy to remove. Order a pumice stone stick from Amazon and simply grind away the buildups. The calcium will turn into a powder that will eventually wind up in the pool filter. Swim on : )
