So many memories, so many people hurt. So much progress made just to have that progress flushed by the resent events is a damned shame.

The smoke from the towers was in our yard the next morning. People couldn't go back into Staten Island. We lived in Elizabeth at the time. It was sad all the way around. No food, no water, people had to sleep in their cars. No phone service so the stranded people couldn't contact home to let them know they were okay and they couldn't find out how their families all over the five boroughs were doing. We went to B.J.'S in Linden N.J. and bought water, diapers, food items and drove around doing the best we could. Many many other people were doing the same thing. It was like a team. The people on our block cooked an amazing amount of food and just kept hauling it out to those in need.

The pictures that friends brought back from the site were unbelievable. The guys who worked at night on the machinery work heavy duty masks with oxygen from work even though the people in charge were saying the air quality was fine.

I'm so sorry for all the pain that was dealt out by those Bastards that day. I still struggle but not like I did in the beginning. I went to get professional help.

Here's to a better future for all of us!
I know how you feel. I worked in NYC on 9th ave and 15th St (Chelsea Market) as a "leased" I.T. guy for a Fashion company. I would always take the Path from Newark into WTC thru JC that got in to WTC at 8:50AM and either walk the 2miles or take the subway. Fortunately I was sick that day as my timing would have been perfect. Wasn't easy going back in after that.
