As a flight attendant with a major US airline for well over 30 years, I have watched our profession degrade as the airline industry transitioned from "something special in the air" to Greyhound standards. With affordability came accessibility; indifference replaced anticipation in our passengers. Complaints of limited personal space are certainly valid, considering the average BMI today. Mandated vaccines and masks have tipped the scale. Mask compliance has replaced liquor and smoking issues for the majority of passenger misconduct reports.
