I really don't understand this whole article or why you think this is a problem with homeless. Every society no matter what they do ask people that refuse aid. If you're homeless you can't get into a school because you don't have an address. Just look at California over 50,000 in one state that is considered the richest state overall of our nation. They can't seem to solve a problem that could easily be solved by putting up $50,000 travel trailers 1 hour outside of la in the desert for only 1% of their state budget. You would think they would be some common sense from legislatures but there isn't, we supposedly have one or two thousand homeless families living in the Ocala Forest. Now consider that an RV trailer with two bedrooms costse about 10 to 15,000 . The cost of putting in sanitary piping and water and electricity is about $5,000 per space, so let's figure 20,000 total times 1,000 equals 20,000,000.
$20 million would solve the homeless problem here in Lake and Sumter and if you would do it the way all politicians do it they would take out a bond bring the question after 2 million a year over 20 years. It just takes guts and common Sense. And what is really ridiculous about all of this is that the federal government would end up paying 90% of the cost as we have what's called section 8 housing which pays for people to rent now.
The real problem is that then you have 1,000 families that you have to have medical psychological and job training for and of course NIMBY which means not in my backyard. I think you can get the federal government to give up a few thousand acres in the Ocala Forest which is 250,000 acres to begin with. So if there are any politicians out there reading this or anyone with any pool with politicians bring it up in the legislation next time in Florida to put it in the budget or even Sumter county or Lake county or Marion county could each chip in about 10 million which would only be about 1 or 2% of each county budget
