The announcement just comes at a bad time with the holidays looming and postal rates going up again as of today!
Well, "bleeding money" is not entirely accurate, the main reason for fiscal issues is the change in requirements (applicable only to the USPS) in having 10 years of retirement funding in the bank - so to speak. It does seem the people that have been screaming for years to end the post office are finally getting their dream, a few years of higher prices and slower service and it will fade into the past.

Just coincidence?
