I had the same thoughts about increasing the K8 capacity but was told that is currently not the first consideration.
Whatever the outcome, the current and under construction schools have been and are being built at no cost to Sumter County. One could even say that they are built in spite of Sumter County based on their origins, a lack of quality schools in the area made it difficult for the developer to bring quality people to The Villages and it's the many business (retail, commercial, industrial, etc.) needed to support the growing population. The developer took it upon themselves to build a Charter school system that is and has been, one of the best in the state.
If you've never been to any of the charter schools, you should volunteer some time and work with the staff and students, the school is like no other, you'll be amazed.

Do you know if there are plans to build a pool in the new high school so that the Villages Charter School will not have to use the sports pools?
