Went into Chase Bank where we were told that the check was void since we scratched out on it.....it was in the name of the account holder and wanting to cash her own check. The teller went to the manager and was told that the check was void....Thoughts? We are now saying good bye to Chase Bank. Your thoughts?

I was a teller for many years & I was told that a check like that would have been null & void.
