She started running around playing with us, and them, with a case of "the zoomies". At one point, she stopped in her tracks and decided to "off load", right on their yard. We profusely apologized and our new neighbors said, "Don't worry about it, just make sure you clean it up, she can run around out here whenever she wants..."
A few days later, they invited us over for drinks, and said "Bring Maggie, we love her!". As we were sitting on their lanai, Maggie jumped in the husband's lap for a belly scratch... She found a new friend... He was just as happy as she was...
We have other neighbors (not dog owners) who carry treats when they take a walk...
Just be nice, just be respectful to your neighbors... It really isn't that hard...
