No deflection/diversion. I think it's disgusting that people would defile art, in any form. Statues should be preserved, not destroyed. The sentiment that the Jackson statue is offensive is irrelevant. It IS offensive. But spraying it with graffiti is not the civilized way to express offense. Demanding that it be moved elsewhere is good. Demanding that a new plaque be put in front of it to explain who Jackson was, what he did/didn't do, and how this statue fits into the history of the man, would be the better course to take.
But it isn't what happened.
What happened, is that someone sprayed "Expect Us" on the statue, and BayKid commented on the non-word "Expecius," and that's what I chose to make fun of.
