They both make it crystal clear what the score was back then. Bush, Greenspan and the Republicans in congress said over and over we were heading for trouble. The Democrats said no we are not and blocked every effort to investigate and regulate. One even called it a witch hunt. Did no one glean any information from the videos at all?

And then Laker14 leaves out the last piece as though it doesn't even exist either.
And then a 10 trillion dollar deficit under Obama.
So it would seem logical to me that if you like Clinton for the balanced budget, dislike Bush for adding a trillion or so to the debt you must hate Obama for adding trillions and trillions more on top of that...right?
To understand the solution you have to understand the cause and that will tell you who to trust for the fix.
Here the kicker. In last few seconds of the video Bill Clinton HIMSELF blames his own party for resisting efforts to fix Freddie and Fannie by the Republicans. Resist efforts = not one Democrat in congress voted for it. NOT ONE!
Guess what???? Freddie and Fannie failed and here we are today.
