In this day and age, it really doesn't take alot to be the "friendliest".

we are an elderly community. That being said, we can sometime have more bad days than good.

It is very comforting that we do try to live up to The Villages motto as much as we can.
Good points. Rudeness begets rudeness, whereas a smile and a wave often elicits the same out of someone who looks grouchy enough to bite the back end out of a bear.

I've long maintained that the reason people are so ready to talk about rude people is that, by and large, most Villagers are NOT rude people. The ones who are stand out because of the fact that they are so rare. I counted 181 golf carts using the path on my walk one day last week. Precisely two were rude; one who refused to move over and came uncomfortably close to me, and another one who chucked an empty soft-drink can into the ditch in full view of myself and the people in another cart. Two, out of 181. But I remember the two far more than the other 179. Rudeness was far more prevalent where I come from than it is down here.
