If you're new to the neighborhood, or have new neighbors, and you want to have a yard sale, then I think that it's worth the time and effort. Yeah, you do get those who want stuff for next to nothing, but it's easier just to say no to them. If you have a yard sale to make a lot of money, then you'll be disappointed. My advice is to price the items to sell them....get rid of them. It's a pita to bring back in all the stuff that didn't sell. Sell it cheap, sell it fast, meet new neighbors, and learn things while you're at it. Have a party...put on some music, get comfortable, and when the garage sale is over, pour yourself a glass of wine.
