As far as New York. If, you know the city, you can buy guns on the steps of the 42nd street library. As it is criminal to own a gun in NY only criminals have guns.
For that matter a gun is a simple device. You can buy everything you need at one of the box stores such as Lowes, Home Depo, Walmart etc.

You forget that those states you mentioned are naturally going to have more shootings, because they have some of the largest population hubs of all the states. More people…bigger numbers. Maybe do your analysis by percentage of the population ratio to make it fair. If you have a state with 100 million people, and another state with 5 million people….naturally the state with more people will have higher numbers of crimes, because of the increase in population. However, if you look at percentages of the population, it would be more accurate comparison.
