saw the show at Colony Saturday. Simply amazing. Amazing. So impressive, the amount of work they all put into these displays. So fortunate to have all these guys/gals still around enjoying, for many a lifetime work.
We did talk at length with one of the guys. The Club 'lost' four members in the last year. Their relatives did not want their sets, and all the gear. So the other guys took it all over. They have to pack everything away after shows (the tables are in sections), then all goes into many rental trucks up to a 466 storage area -actually multiple areas. They charge $1800/month for the storage. The Club foots that bill along with the trucks etc etc. Let alone the thousands$$$ spent over the years on their elaborate trains, controllers, and landscapes et al.
They all agreed their greatest worry is that this all will be a lost art/hobby. Almost none of their kids/g-kids would want to take over their hobby. The guys said 'kids only want to play video games etc".
