I've rented long and short term in three different neighborhoods. Some people were friendly all the time--even during lockdown. Some people were friendly only when they wanted me to contact my landlord re an issue. Some ignored me all the time, even if I spoke to them. People wanted to know how long I'd be renting, so I tend to think along the same lines as the poster who asked why invest in people who would be here today and gone tomorrow.
