it is true & it isn't. we have a home next door that the owners only visit 1,2x per year. the rest of the time, it's rented out to family members &/or friends, & on occasion to 'strangers.'
we are very cordial to anyone in the home, but do not have the time to establish friendships. it doesnt mean we arent friendly, but i have a full plate 24/7. each household is different, but if you have a dog, it makes meeting people a cinch. best of luck to you & really hope you enjoy your stay! you'll be back, lol
