Wow! I see a major MIS-interpretation of this Ontario Data. It is true that 70% of all patients in that Hospital are VACCINATED. And that in the ICU 50% of the patients are VACCINATED. But, that IS misleading and not the full story to be told. Ontario, in that same article, has 89% of its total POPULATION vaccinated. So, to be accurate the denominator needs to be PER population, like PER 100,000. You can intuitively see that with a big 90% of Ontario being VACCINATED that when you do a comparison between who is vaccinated and total IN THE HOSPITAL, that because so many Ontarians are VACCINATED that a large % of them would make up patients in the Hospital. If vaccinations WERE NOT effective then 89% of the patients in the Hospital would likely be VACCINATED.
......BOTTOM LINE - that article and those graphs ACTUALLY show the opposite of what was said in that erroneous post. One just has to be observant as to what the divisor is in the fraction (that becomes the percentage). Better luck next time!
