It looks like there are a little less than 100 cases for every 100,000 people in Ontario, CA. In Florida the number is currently 263 with a bullet. Whether it is their high vaccination rate or their restrictions, something seems to be working for Ontario.
In the 2nd paragraph, you are considering the denominator of the fraction. That is where the confusion is occurring. Think instead about what the denominator SHOULD be. The 3rd paragraph reveals the OVERALL truth - that Ontario
is doing better (MUCH better) with hospital cases TOTAL than the US is. And we know this also from news reports!
.....It IS the US, not Ontario where the hospitals are going to emergency Do Not Resuscitate policies.
.....And some will say that Florida does NOT have DNR policies. To which, I will say that I hope it stays that way, but Fl. is NOT as cold as northern US state's hospitals where the DNRs are in effect. And "it is NOT over til it's over"!
