Then, he told me that I was not cooperating, and that he was going to charge me $1,000, and that my Medicare account would be cancelled on Sunday. I asked him if they could bill me for the $1,000, and he said that he would. The call lasted about 20 minutes, but it was fun. I am easily entertained.

Oh my! retired guy, it looks like you are in time-killing mode like I have been today.
But I luv what you did.
It is tragic how many people fall for those things. Scammers know how to tap into the amygdala if given a chance.
(Might have been extra fun to start giving him a made up number with as many digits as it took to make him hang up on you. I wonder how many digits it would take β maybe adding in a little, βIs that a 5 or a 3? Let me get my glasses.) But your creativity strung him along longer than that would have taken β so good job.)
Anyway, ya dun good β scamming a scammer.
