Yes, there are multiple discussions on this topic and you can be sure you will get 500 responses telling you to get a rollup because just like gas vs. electric golf carts. In any case, what kind of advice are you looking for before all the "slider abuse" begins here??

We chose a slider over the rool-up type mainly because we go in and out of our house multiple times duriing the day through the garage and just sliding 1 panel 2 feet over was a lot easier than waiting for a 16' wide screen to roll all the way up and then back down just to take out the garbage or talk to a neighbor. When we drive out we slide it half way then close the garage door and when we return it's already opened for us to drive back in. There are no motors to have to deal with to go bad and no remotes to lose. Ours "hangs" (slides) from the top track so any dirt in the bottom track is no problem because there are no bottom wheels to get jammed. We clean out the track every 6 months or so with a leaf blower.

We've had it 5 years with zero problems and are still satisfied over our choice. YMMV of course.
