When you FIRST go on Medicare you can get whatever you like for a part D supplemental plan. It's after you have been on an Advantage plan for more than the first year that you will run into trouble getting supplemental plans.
You have to go through medical qualification. That's why people with any medical issues shy away from Advantage plans when first going on Medicare.
