Isn't it true that even if a report is made, the authorities check things out themselves before any action is taken? And if so, then how is this any different (except in degree, of course) than calling the cops when you see someone acting suspiciously, or reporting a shoplifter to the store manager?
I can see where this would be irritating, maybe a major inconvenience if the the authorities verify that that they're in violation of something and are required to make it right. But aren't they doing all of us (except the violators, of course) a favor?

I disagree. If you get turned in no one looks at your property. You get a call and are told you have 7 days to fix things. Unfortunately these ladies may have a different interpretation of the rules and nothing needs to be done but they stuck their nose in the way.
