Do we need Ambassadors at the Putting Courses? SLOW PLAY!
I recently played at one of the putting courses. There was a foursome ahead of us and there must have been a lot of money riding on the scores because everyone played every shot like it was the back nine of the Masters on Sunday. They would line up the putt, take a few practice swings, go back and check the putt again, and then hit the putt. I played five holes (spending about 90% of the time just standing around waiting for them to clear the green). When I finished the 5th hole, they were still waiting to tee off on 6 (even though no one was ahead of them on the hole - they appeared to be chatting and unaware that there were people behind them) so I jumped ahead - there was no one ahead of them - and went to the 9th hole and played it. We then played 10-18 and on the way back to the golf cart, the original foursome was just finishing the 9th hole. We played 10 holes - 9-18- in the time it took them to play 6-8 and part of nine.
The next time I went, there was a twosome ahead of us with only one putter! They were also extremely slow.
I can play an executive course in a little over an hour if there are no players in front of me. It shouldn't take as long to play the putting courses as it does to play an executive course.
Any suggestions on how to improve pace of play???
