US recreating "Wag the Dog?"

What if and this is economic analysis, not political analysis, China and the old soviet union want to inflict maximum economic damage to the West?

Could Russia bankrupt the USA? You'd have to do the mental game theory, but let's say Russia imposes sanctions on the USA. Just the USA. A total ban of titanium, aluminum, oil, natural gas, hot women, etc.. The USA's finances are already in a risky position, what would the above do to it?

U.S. Battles Putin by Disclosing His Next Possible Moves - The New York Times

Not bankrupting but weakening US significantly - increasing inflationary pressure. More significant is the energy situation with Europe - if Russia can handle sanctions from the west (with chinese support) then europe and us will be weakened significantly.

Is this a distraction for China to invade Taiwan?

Or is the buildup just leverage for Russia being desperate for Germany to approve the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. It's built, just not operational. Needs German regulatory approval, which is being held up.

Europe relies heavily on Russian natural gas .

Excellent NYT article about the information - disinformation game between Putin and the West. China and russia always want to test Western leadership at times of change. .

good luck all, but the markets could be a bit chaotic for a bit!

30 plus trillion in debt I’ll go out on limb and say we are already bankrupted. IMO By end of 2023 could be 40 Trillion in debt. When it final hits stock market it’s going to tank like we’ve never seen it before.
