My two cents worth. It is or should be a simple job. You can look on the internet, utube,and see what is involved. From the post, it sounds like you do not have the tools, a large wrench to tighten the packing-if that is the issue. To replace the washer you need to take the faucet apart-not a big job either. The villages it is likely you have plastic plumbing. It is possible to break the pipe. Be sure you know how to turn off your water.

If, you call a plumber, they of course charge you to drive over. Look around for other issues. It will be cheaper to do it now rather than call him again and pay him to come back
