Not only rude to continue, but way beyond rude to ever think trespassing was in anyway acceptable in the first place.
Not over reacting, imho. Small inconvenience? Someone has taken possession of your property without permission, and used it. Same principle as taking possession of your car, with out your permission, for a joyride then returning it to where they found it. Imo, you are trying to make light of a situation that to many is very unpleasant, to say the least.
