I’ve owned pets throughout my life, and it never let them go to the bathroom and someone else’s yard.

Dogs need to walk, and despite using their own yards, walking and the scents of other dogs will stimulate their need to “go”. As for walking around the lake, it’s a great way to feed a gator, so no lake walking for good reason.
