This thread has morphed from someone suggesting that Dick Cheney shut up to comparisons and criticisms of the current VP, to an analysis of the chain of command, one iteration of which had Denny Hastert in the mix.
I responded early on, saying that, yes I believe that Cheney had eight years to say his piece and do his thing, now it's time for him to retire and be quiet, IMHO.
On the other subjects introduced to this thread, I guess it's worthwhile putting in my two cents...
- Cheney was devious and dangerous, maneuvering to achieve his personal purposes even if it meant undermining and subverting those of his President, who he was supposed to be serving.
- While Cheney was devious, clandestine and self-serving, Biden is at least loyal, even if a little unpredictable at times. At least he's honest and forthright. If if ever got to him in the succession, I'm convinced that America would be a safer and more respected place than it would have been if Cheney was the commander-in-chief..
- I don't like the current third in succession any better than I liked it when the old wrestling coach, Denny Hastert, was third in line. Either Pelosi or Hastert make for a sad commentary on the quality of political leadership available to lead our country.
Let the hollering and yelling begin.
