Every fraudulent vote deprives a citizen of their vote. That is why corrupt politicians have changed or ignored laws to make voter fraud much easier. Without strong election verification there is no fair election. In Europe most countries are same day in person voting and ALL have a paper trail. Every vote should have a paper trail even when machines are used.

...and then they fixed the software errors, and it turned out the "too many votes" was 100% categorically entirely not true, at all, in any way shape or form. Turned out a few different things happened:

1. There were software errors, which were fixed.
2. Someone plugged in the wrong number into the wrong field in the database and came up with fewer people in the county than there actually were.

End result: the above was "social media" conspiracy rhetoric based on ERRORs, that were intentionally spread to create anger against the lawful winners of the elections in the state.
