Where can you find a snow blower in Florida? Shoveling snow? Our nutty neighbor used to serve hot cocoa as we shoveled.
Yes, taxes were higher but, we did not have a bond to pay. Bike riding? We had a great bike path that went to Jones Beach. Every place has things to offer. My garden?
Northern birds at least wait for the fruit to ripen. Southern birds will eat it green.

DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY.
Well, having grown up on LI and lived 30+ years in the Finger Lakes region, I'll say this: A little snow is pretty, 10+ feet per season of shoveling and blowing and plowing is not, neither is slush and ice. There was no bond in NY, but my property tax AND $3200 bond combined is still only one third of my taxes in NY, and my home here is worth 3x as much. Bike---yes, it is a nice path to Jones Beach, but once there you get to compete with 700,000 other people for 10 sq. feet of sand, and your bike will be stolen 1 minute after you leave it. And there aren't any birds nibbling on my limes and lemons.

Should have left NY sooner!
