My caution is that if the water isn't kept constantly fresh it can be less than desirable for the fourlegged one you love. Left at the end of the driveway in the sun, no telling who or what has been using it ( birdbath, rats, squirrels,??). Always have fresh water for your dog.
🐶 They rely on you!
I agree with you. I change the water in the morning and mid-afternoon. I am concerned as the summer moves in about the water getting hot, and I am trying to figure out how to avoid that.

I do disagree that birds, squirrels etc are a problem. Dogs drink from puddles, they sniff and leak on plants, and on and on. If you ever take you dog out into the world, you are exposing it to nature. The only way to avoid that is to put your dog in a perambulator and put a plastic bubble around it.
